The question of whether we’ll be uploading our consciousness to a computer is no longer if. It’s probably when. That’s because these digital consciousnesses – our essences – will likely be the product of an AI’s interpretation of ourselves. The breadcrumbs we’ll leave across digital files, images, videos, audio recordings, and, of course, all that social media will be an ample resource to reconstruct you.

It was trump level stupid to realize from the beginning that handing over your personal information on the internet was a bad idea?

        That is stupid to you?

We learned not to do that shit before Facebook came out.

And within a very short time after it came out it became very obvious it was a bad idea as well.

Then you must be even older than I am then. Back in 03-04 no one my age was worried much about any data other than just publicly posting your SSN and photos of your IDs.

Worrying about your tweets and statuses was not a thing amongst my peers. At the time at least.

No one knew then what it would grow into. I didn’t even think it would last through college, much less til now, over 20 years later.

Some people were. It was a basic rule of the internet even then.

So you are projecting then? Calling me stupid?
