I wonder if Nintendo will manage 2 main Zelda games for the gen considering how long it took for Tears of the Kingdom and how recent that was. Mostly want to see how the next Xenoblade looks

They might not even release one for this system. They managed to get two games out of one (well built) world/playground, across three systems. Nintendo only makes a game if they feel like there’s something new (for the most part), and it’s very possible they’re burned out on zelda right now.

I’m guessing they’ll have other main liners for this system. Donkey Kong and Mario and something else.

Yeah, it might be like the Wii leading into the WiiU. Twilight Princess was originally going to be for the GameCube, but turned into a wii launch title and was followed by Skyward Sword late into the Wiis lifetime. That resulted in the WiiU never having its own Zelda, instead sharing BOTW with Switch during its release.

So it’s possible with BOTW released with Switch and TOTK late into the switches lifetime that we’ll see the same thing happen on the switch 2 (and it won’t get an exclusive Zelda).

The Wii U had a very short (relative for a console) lifespan, though. It released at the end of 2012, and the Switch came in early 2017. Really just 4 years and some change. It didn’t sell well and Nintendo wanted to move on from it as quickly as possible.

The Switch, by comparison, lasted about twice as long (longer if you factor in how many more game releases it’s still likely to see), and I’d anticipate the Switch 2 having a comparable lifespan if it continues to sell well. We’re not getting a Switch 3 in 2030, at least.

That’s fair, I just pointing out an interesting parallel in Nintendo/Zelda history.

That being said, I agree with you about the switch 2. At the rate things are going with prices, even Sony and Microsoft may be waiting to release the next Gen.

I’m hoping they can revive Star Fox Adventure. Next Zelda, I think it needs something new to it. I got tired of it way faster than Breath of the Wild. Too much of the same
