There’s only 10 states that allow DWD. It was approved in CA ~10 years ago, and I bet this isn’t information most medical offices are going to offer patients unsolicited. Probably one of those things you have to have prior knowledge of, find a participating medical practitioner, and specifically ask about.
It’s also sadly possible that after 90 years, they were unaware of that option. It’s relatively new in their lifespan.
