Donald Trump has made it clear he doesn’t want to support Europe like previous administrations. Europe is now grappling with how best to maintain its own defenses.
The European Union’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, said on Wednesday Europe needs to play a bigger role in NATO after increasing tensions with the US since the return of Donald Trump to the White House.
Trump has “shaken the transatlantic relationship to its foundation,” Kallas told the European Defense Agency’s annual conference.
While Europe had sought to stay on Trump’s good side in the hope of maintaining US support for Ukraine, Trump’s threats to take Greenland from NATO ally Denmark sparked a change in tone from European leaders.
I wish Trump would rupture, like the pestilent boil on America’s ass that he is.
But even if this boil bursts, the US are still rife with the same pestilence that brought about that particular boil on their arse.
Have you looked at the European political scene lately? This pestilence is worldwide.
It unfortunately is, but at this scale? The only European case I can pull out of the top of my head where a convicted criminal, who had been involved in an attempted coup, and had announced that he would dismantle the state if he got the power to do so, was made head of government in an European democracy, was when Adolf Hitler became German chancellor in 1933.
While this is true, European political systems are generally more competitive and flexible (i.e. not a two party state).
US is a two party state where both parties are very corrupt, but worst thing is that the base of the centre-right opposition is largely tolerant of corruption.

IMO she is doing a really great job, keeping her eyes on Europe and European cooperation. I am happy and proud to have her - which I can’t say about Rutte.
