On Tuesday, Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala said that ICE agents were “not welcome.”
“This is a militia that kills … It’s clear that they are not welcome in Milan, there’s no doubt about it. Can’t we just say no to Trump for once?” the mayor said in an interview with Italy’s RTL 102.5 radio.

Embassies are considered US territory (standard diplomacy) and I guess the administration thinks it’s important to give Team USA “top level security” (it’s ICE so we all know that’s a BS line.)
This is a common misconception:
Contrary to popular belief, diplomatic missions sometimes do not enjoy full extraterritorial status and are generally not sovereign territory of the represented state. From wikipedia
While technically true, the international standard has been to treat foreign embassies as such, because “invading” a foreign embassy is essentially an act of war.
Today, though, what standards are even left?
Gonna be interesting to see what comes of ICE showing up at the Ecuadorian consulate in Minneapolis earlier today.
Did these idiots think they were going to find Jullian Assange?
Embassy security is provided by the Diplomatic Security Service, a separate agency that operates under the State Department, not Homeland Security.
Indeed but there is probably nothing that says other agencies can’t be involved (hello convenient loopholes the administration loves how you doing)
