Summary

Elon Musk’s team is reportedly gaining control over key U.S. government operations.

His Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) officials have clashed with Treasury staff over access to federal payment systems, which handle $6 trillion annually.

Reports indicate Musk aides have locked civil servants out of government databases and are reviewing tech operations across agencies.

Originally intended as an external advisory body, DOGE was instead integrated into the government by Trump’s executive order, giving Musk a direct role in federal operations.

I took “free Luigi” to suggest they need Luigi to kill Elon, but they don’t need Luigi… to kill Elon.

I do not see how “free Luigi” followed by the response of “free him yourself” means “go kill Elon yourself.” Wouldn’t that be “free Elon?”

People didn’t say “free Mumia” and “free Leonard Peltier” because they wanted them to stay imprisoned.

You’ll get it eventually, but I’m not sure it’s worth your time. Although, I guess you’ve got a lot of free time now that you can’t shape the dialog on lemmy. 🤷‍♂️

What’s there to shape? You said what you said. If you meant something else then fine but to act like they’re are wildly misinterpreting you is absurd. Just say “I misspoke. What I mean is…” and problem solved. Stop being weird about this.

It’s not a good joke if no one can tell the difference. Doesn’t seem a to be a lot of people on the “inside” of this one.

The joke to him wasn’t for anyone but him. This is a private conversation in a public space. Just accept that and move on, please.
