Asking people to shoot cops means that he and lot of others die.

Asking for civil resistance creates a lot of friction for ICE and slows them down.

Ah yes, the domestic violence excuse. He could be beating you more.

He’s the head of the state, with resources beyond just gently asking his people to turn the other cheek. He’s got the bully pulpit to call for strikes, he’s got the police to enforce plate laws and intervene when ICE breaks the law, he’s got the instruments of state to rewrite laws. All he does is chide the people.

This is “a campaign of organized brutality” and all he can think of is take your phone out and turn the other cheek. Which is conveniently a thing other people will carry the burden for and for which he has to make zero hard decisions.

The cops in Minnesota are outnumbered by ICE — if they’re not actually Nazis.

He is not ina great position here. Its going to be bottom-up, not top-down

Weird how that’s literally the only direction the people at the top ever ask for. And they, at the top, just stay there and don’t seek to help or support those bottom up tactics.

And even though there are more out Nazis than cops, even just gumming up the works by pulling over a van full of them because they’re breaking the law is actually doing something useful. Tying up Nazis on the street and in court by pretending the law still exists is more than this learned helplessness by the most powerful people on our side. They don’t even need to look for them, just post a guy outside the federal building running plates that leave. Even if they just end up ignoring the citation, the propaganda value of police telling ICE they’re not above the law would be extremely valuable. But instead they throw up their hands and try to tell the people there’s nothing they can do. Every. Single. Time.
