      I actually think that would be really good for Trump, if it actually happened. Remember what happened to W’s approval after 9/11, and what kinds of new powers were passed even with the then more functional democracy.

            Probably, its their proud soldiers going of to war… And losing. Or maybe still winning but at a high cost

            Military embarrassments is a pretty terminal for regimes, Argentina post Falklands war comes to mind

            Either way, pretty sure the red states would like him more if he won with no consequences

              I guess that’s true. In aggressor states “how dare they resist” can be a real dynamic, but the examples I can think of are more from within the military or regime itself, not civilians.
