Does she, though? As the situation has already proven, you don’t necessarily have the right to live in a country just because your spouse is there.
I’m not saying it’s happening in this particular case, but it’s entirely plausible that that the immigration laws in the US and some other country could be such that each spouse is barred from the other’s country and they can’t live together anywhere.
