Off the top of my head,

• Retinol can damage your skin if used without sun protection and can cause permanent eye dryness if it gets in your eyes
• Many skin products contain varying levels of acids that need to be used according to directions
• Niacinamide requires a prescription for certain amounts that could be reached with OTC products if used in excess

and then there’s just the general fucking up of skin oil balance, etc. that can set off years of fighting dry skin or acne.

I had this exact thought! It’s a simple comparison with a subtle nod to acceptance of the somewhat-more-likely-to-be-conservative blue collar crowd.

The progressives need better messaging on literally everything. I’m only into marketing as a side interest and some of the crap the Democrats put out is infuriatingly bad–especially considering it’s up against the fascist/corporatist propaganda machine.

Every time I see a question in a news headline, I just answer it with “no.” in my head and move on. 90% of the time it’s the same answer the article arrives at and the other 10% of the time, I’ll see a real headline about it from other sources anyway–with the actual lede in the title.
