There are “stochastic language models” I suppose (e.g., click the middle suggestion from your phone after typing the first word to create a message), but something like chatgpt or perplexity or deepseek are not that, beyond using tokenization / word2vect-like setups to make human readable text. These are a lot more like “don’t trust everything you read on Wikipedia” than a randomized acid drop response.

This is me too. I have two of them bought and paid for and people just don’t get it: I went all in on this and you can just sell for 15% of purchase price, I still have mobility needs. In that case though you wouldn’t have to worry about voting for palestinian genocide, because it would be over and done with. You could be not voting for climate denial or not voting for something else, posting on Lemmy about how righteous you are, and bottling your own farts to sniff later.

While you are absolutely right, doing this means (probably) tarnishing your own reputation which many people can’t stomach. You can get another job, but a reputation as an incompetent or subversive employee will follow you around.
