most tanky positions are indefensible. and yet, they try to defend them anyways.

i find it incredible that despite having access to basically unlimited information about its users, facebook makes stupid decisions that seem almost designed to piss off its users. and then you have situations like this, where facebook was told ahead of time that this decision would make a lot of people angry, and then facebook went and did it anyway only to walk it back a few days later and say it was a mistake. why?

that’s because they instead crouch right before jumping, so that they can reach an even higher ledge. i would be okay with them killing crouch jumping so long as they don’t kill c-tapping. its just so satisfying to pull off.

i also worry that switching to step ups would severely impact rocket jumping and surfing. the advanced movement systems in tf2 are my favorite among any video game i’ve played so far. i’d be pretty bummed if they gutted them in tf3. im still mourning the loss of full turn control on the chargin targe.

then don’t make a half a billion dollar game. red dead 2 would have been fine without dynamically sized horse balls. a lot of people (read: me) don’t care about hyper realistic graphics in games. i’d rather play something with a cool aesthetic that runs smoothly instead of something that looks like a disney live action remake and makes my computer beg for mercy. indie developers have been eating everyone’s dinner recently with a never ending stream of incredible and beautiful looking games. i’m sure it’s possible to make a good game for less than 500 million dollars and with less than 8 years of development time.

both articles seem to suggest that this is only (or primarily) affecting ubisoft games, which suggests that ubisoft might share some of the blame here. microsoft is very dumb for pushing out an update that breaks a ton of games, especially given how much they claim to love backwards compatibility. but ubisoft is also dumb if they are relying on undocumented APIs, as some of the other comments suggest they might be. microsoft already struggles to keep their documented APIs stable, so i can only imagine what happens with the undocumented APIs

since you said porn sites (plural), i would have assumed it was a link to an article about the topic. e.g., an article saying something like “anti porn laws infringe on people’s right to privacy and don’t actually stop people from viewing porn”.

i’m getting increasingly convinced by the argument that goes as follows. for the past several decades, the republican party was composed of people who gave tax breaks to all their wealthy friends and fucked over the working class, but those people knew those positions would be wildly unpopular so they used the culture war bullshit as a distraction. and it worked. the culture war bullshit ended up being super popular with their base. but now, their previously young base that bought into that nonsense has grown up, and they have internalized all of it. this generation of republicans fully believes all the nonsense they’ve been fed for the past 40 years. or at the very least, they are competing with people who legitimately believe it, so they need to put on a convincing performance.

but what if they scan the pictures with an AI made in australia? maybe it would be better to post them from new zealand so that they won’t be able to find you on a map
